We are Burdekin.

Burdekin is an independent not-for-profit organisation that works with young people and their families in the community, to prevent youth homelessness, provide safe housing and support wellbeing.

We provide a continuum of care for young people and their families through an integrated approach to intervention, support, and housing.

Burdekin brings nearly 40 years of proven experience working with young people.

“My teenage years were years full of stability, safety, security and a nurturing environment. I remained at the same school, completed my HSC, and completed a double degree - all with the support of Burdekin's youth services.”

Donations

Help us end youth homelessness! Your donation to Burdekin can change the course of a young person’s life. When you donate, you provide vulnerable youth with safe housing, education, and the support they need.

Every contribution helps fund long-term youth services with lasting impact to the child or young person and the communities they join.

We need your help to make this possible!

* Donations of $2 and over are tax deductible in Australia

Most homeless kids feel safer on the streets or on a friend’s couch than in their own home.

Fostering a child Sydney

We acknowledge the Aboriginal peoples of the Cadigal and Gayamaygal Clans. We acknowledge the Country on which we live, work, and gather as being Aboriginal land. We acknowledge the lands, waterways and skies that are connected to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We honour them and pay our deepest respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

We respect their rightful place within our communities and we value their ancient cultural knowledge and practices.
We deeply respect that this will always be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander land and we will honour and follow the first peoples’ values in caring for the Country and for preserving their cultures.

We deeply value that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the oldest living cultures in the world and we will continue to work with their peoples and communities to ensure their cultures endure and remain strong.
